| Baby belly fat is
a problem for millions of women post pregnancy.
Weight gained during pregnancy can be hard to move. With a new
baby in the house it can be hard to find the time to do the necessary
exercises to get back into shape.
Although the media is full of images of celebrity mothers who quickly
regain their body shape post pregnancy most people will need longer
than a couple of months to get back in shape. Most people cannot
afford the services of a personal trainer to help them lose their
belly fat. However there is plenty of other weight loss help available.
The main area that needs attention are the stomach and abdominal
muscles. During pregnancy these muscles can be stretched by up to
60 cm and can become separated. The medical term for this separation
is diastasis. Even if you have lost all your extra weight the skin
round the tummy area may still feel lose.
Fortunately all this can be put right through a sensible program
of safe weight loss and by performing the correct exercises. Low
fat and low calorie diet plans are best avoided if you are breast
feeding your baby as it may affect your baby. A sensible diet plan
aiming for a weight loss of 1-2 pounds is generally recommended.
There are many different exercises and exercise programs that you
can do to get back in shape. A popular exercise program at the moment
is the Tupler Theory which promotes a series of activities aimed
at correcting the damage done by diastasis.
During the pregnancy a pregnancy workout can still be done up to
the later stages of the pregnancy. This can strengthen the stomach
muscles and reduce the stretching that naturally occurs during pregnancy.
